BANKING, COMMERCIAL, AND FINANCE LAW
We understand that the legal needs of a business organization evolve, and we have experienced attorneys who are able to assist you every step of the way.
Fisher, Skrobot & Sheraw, LLC, has decades of experience serving as legal counsel for financial institutions. We handle all legal aspects of banking and finance. Our attorneys are skilled in structuring, devising, negotiating, and documenting a broad range of banking and financial transactions. We represent commercial banks, community banks, other financial institutions, and individual and institutional lenders. We provide counsel in related finance matters as well, including letters of credit, intercreditor and subordination matters, and creditors’ rights issues. We also regularly represent our commerical, banking, and finance clients in the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.
Our attorneys help clients understand and comply with the myriad of federal and state laws, rules and regulations impacting the financial services industry. We represent banks, mortgage lenders, and consumer financial services institutions in regulatory compliance, transactions, and litigation. We understand the interplay between state and federal law, and routinely counsel clients on federal preemption and related issues.
We regularly defend our financial services clients in lender liability actions; consumer practices act/unfair, deceptive and abusive practices (UDAAP) matters including federal and state consumer class actions; loan repurchase defense and prosecution matters; and notary representation before local bar associations. Our experience also includes interacting with governmental entities (State Attorneys’ General, regulators and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau).
In our finance and commerical work, we often draw upon the knowledge of attorneys who specialize in related fields that may affect our clients’ finance matters, such as bankruptcy, real estate, tax, environmental law, intellectual property, and information technology and compliance with state and federal law. We approach our representation of clients as a team, in order to provide them with the specific experience, knowledge, and research that are required for their particular transactions.
