Beth M. Miller is of counsel with Fisher, Skrobot & Sheraw, LLC. She is experienced in all aspects of bankruptcy, complex litigation and commercial and consumer collection matters and has been named a Rising Star in the area of Bankruptcy and Debtor/Creditor Rights by Super Lawyers. She has served as lead counsel to a panel trustee in numerous consumer and commercial bankruptcy cases, responsible for asset sales and the prosecution of adversary proceedings and contested matters, including avoidance actions and claim objections. Beth also has multi-layered proficiency in complex litigation as lead attorney with respect to multi-million dollar commercial foreclosures and loan transactions for financial institutions from inception to closing. She is skilled in the identification and resolution of issues related to real property acquisition, including documentation, code violations, existing leases, encumbrances, lien priority, title insurance and lender’s closing instructions. Beth also focuses on the negotiation of settlements of commercial obligations with the drafting of extensive agreements memorializing terms. She routinely handles all aspects of collection, including execution upon personal and business property, garnishments, charging orders, deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure and judgment debtor exams. Beth has particular experience representing financial institutions in bankruptcy matters, including the analysis of chapter 11 and chapter 13 plans for grounds to object to confirmation, the drafting and review of issues related to motions for relief from stay and abandonment, non-dischargeability complaints, proofs of claim, oppositions to motions to avoid liens and motions to convert or dismiss.
Beth graduated from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2000 earning her Juris Doctor. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University in 1996. Beth scored in the 100th percentile on the essay portion of the Ohio Bar Examination, with an overall score in the 99th percentile.
Beth resides with her husband and son in Johnstown, Ohio, where they enjoy spending time with their animals, namely, two horses, a mule, three dogs and a cat, all of which are rescues.
